Barbour Tartans and Prints
All Barbour Tartans originate from the same 'sett', - that is sharing the same pattern and weight of lines - and have been confirmed by experts Kinloch Anderson based in Edinburgh.
In historical precedent Barbour changed the linings according to requirements and has continued to bring in tartans for specific needs.
Alongside the five classic Barbour Tartans, Barbour introduced Cardinal Red Tartan this is often found on black garments.
In broad terms Navy garments have a Dress Tartan lining, Sage has Ancient Tartan, Black has Modern Tartan and Rustic garments have Muted Tartan linings.
Liberty of London Prints
Barbour has also used Liberty’s of London prints inside many of their waxed jackets, and even on some of their quilts and accessories, giving flair to their summer products.
William Morris Prints
New for the winter 2012 season is the use of William Morris prints on the lining of some womens Barbour waxed jackets and bags. Rich in colour with a unique design these linings have a timeless appeal.
