Rated 5 out of 5 by IanMc1964' from Excellent all rounder Ended up with a 38 to fit a 43 inch chest and frame. Two sizes down or you could wear a duvet as base layer. Weird massive sizing. Definitely waterproof. Warmer than usual wax as the sleeves are cotton lined too. Sylkoil more comfy than the harder wax job (it actually bends!). Lightweight. Easily layered. Bought polartec liner which was a size up from the jacket, so mix and match to suit, but it still zipped in ok. A mish mash of sizes but very happy with the result. Top quality and thanks to Outdoor and Country for spot on service.

Re Classic Bedale. I wear a Large Liddesdale with a shirt and thick fleece underneath and a I wear a medium Liddesdale with a thick sweater underneath. I’m a size 42inch chest in a blazer. I’d like the option to wear a layer unde.Should I order a 42 or 40
The Bedale has plenty of room for movement built into design. I am a 52 chest a got a size 52 and have oceans of room for linings and fleece etc. With room left for movement. Hope this helps.

Hi, I have heard the new classic bedales are being produced outside the UK, can you confirm if these are the newer, Eastern European ones or if these are older stock with a made in England badge on the inside? Thank you!

Hello, just wondering about the difference between sage and olive colours please?... are they both variants of green or is olive slightly more brownish tone... I’m looking at cclassic men’s wax jacket bedale, He is 42in chest... vest size to order please?
Thank you for your question and your interest in our products. The sage colour can be described as a bottle green and the olive colour can be described as brown with green undertones. With the wax being a natural product, one of it's key features is that as it wears and naturally degrades the undertones can become more varied and prominent. We would advise choosing a liner in the same size as the jacket to ensure a comfortable fit. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Hi! I would like to ask you, does the wax used on the Barbour still smell heavy? or now odorless synthetic wax is used? then I would like to know the overall length of measure 36. sorry for my poor english. Thank you very much.
Thanks for your question, we can confirm that the wax used over the years has been developed and now provides an odorless finish to the garments. We can also confirm that the size 36 jacket offers an approximate back length (from nape to hem) of 76.2cm | 30".

I have 39" chest, 40" with t-shirt and light jumper, based on the tolerance should I order a 34 or 36? I am 5'8" and 80kg.
Thanks for your question and interest in our products. We can confirm the size 34 measures at approximately 42" which would be suitable. However, if you are wanting to wear additional layers we would recommend the size 36 which measures at 46" (approx) to allow ease of movement.
