So we know that it might feel like summer is still so far away, so long until we feel that soft warm breeze and the sunshine on the back of our necks, and while we may not be able to make summer appear any sooner (although we could recommend a few good travel agents?) we’re pretty sure we do have something that will put a smile on your face…

Fresh florals were a key trend on the catwalks at London Fashion Week spring/summer 2014 with designers such as Christopher Kane and Oscar de la Renta staging strong splashes of botanic within their highly desirable collections. This influence is one that can be clearly seen in the new collection from Joules; along with their passion for bright colours and bold prints. What to wear and when?

With all of this in mind, one of our favourite pieces (and there are many!) has got to be the Women’s Joules Amabel Woven Tunic. This stunning linen dress finished in Taupe Posy combines a beautiful floral print around the neck line with a wide yoke hem and ¾ length sleeves to give an instant and effortless casual chic. Pair with heels and a clutch for a warm summer evening with friends, or match with your favourite skinny jeans and sandals for a fashionable afternoon shopping.

Men’s Joules Dempsey Jumper

We definitely couldn’t talk about the new Joules collection without mentioning the menswear range. The significant trends on the catwalk for him at London Fashion Week SS’14 were stripes (big stripes!), certainly for Valentino, YMC and Moschino – and Marine uniform, depicted by many including Ralph Lauren.  Both of these are clearly displayed in the new Joules compilation for men. Joules have used stripes across many pieces, but the main influence was definitely naval based, with the whole collection portraying a strong sense of maritime activity.

What to wear and when?

Taking all of this into consideration, one of our personal favourites for him is without doubt the Men’s Joules Dempsey Jumper. This piece manages to effortlessly fuse both trends using a deep blue cable knit texture to form a subtle stripe, creating a bang on trend sweater, sure to please even the most discerning of dressers. We recommend pairing with some tailored shorts and boat shoes for a smart summers evening stroll, or with your favourite mid-wash jeans and pumps for a super stylish dress-down Friday at the office.
