Tis’ the season for festive fun with the family. So, we’ve teamed up with Barbour to bring you a series of simple guides, to help you stir up some seasonal magic with your nearest and dearest. Here’s a how-to on making Christmas angel decorations with home and lifestyle blogger, Sarah-Jane (aka Just a Little Build). Gather what you need and enjoy.
Sarah-Jane: “These Christmas angels are not only simple to do, but they have been made using music sheet paper which we purchased at our local charity shop. There’s something really lovely about making new and interesting creations from old, unwanted items and contributing to charitable causes at Christmas!”
You will need…
- 2 sheets of music paper
- Approx 30cm of string
- 1 wooden ball (with a hole through the centre)
- Glue
Step 1: Fold each sheet of music paper back and forth in a concertina style, along the long side, with the folds approximately 1.5cm to 2cm wide.
Step 2: Holding the folded sheets next to each other vertically, wrap the string around the top third and tie a knot. I like to tie two knots so it’s that little bit more secure!
Step 3: Bring one piece of string to the front and the other to the back, going through the middle of the folded papers.
Step 4: Separate the top third of the folded papers and bring the two string strands together at the top to thread them through the wooden ball.
Step 5: Push the wooden ball down the strings to the folded papers and tie a knot.
Step 6: For each side of the folded papers, glue the last fold from the top third to the first fold of the bottom three quarters.
Step 7: Finally tie a knot at the end of the loose string ends and there you have it, your Christmas music sheet angel, ready to hang on your Christmas tree or somewhere else in your home!
