A History of Schöffel Country
The well-known Oakham and Lyndon fleece gilets are probably what brought the Schöffel Country brand to your attention. However, across the world, particularly in ski resorts, Schöffel is a huge household name. This is simply because when it comes down to protecting us from the elements, it can’t be beaten. The original Schöffel brand was founded in 1804 in Bavaria, Germany, and has prospered by combining innovation and technology with a passion for superb styling and outstanding quality. It is still run by the Schöffel family today.
Schöffel Country Clothing
The Schöffel Country range was founded by Corry Cavell-Taylor with the support and experience of father and son Hubert and Peter Schöffel in 1993. It was the Schöffel Ptarmigan shooting coat that launched the collection and essentially put it on the map. This ultimate shooting coat was the result of a group effort of some of the most influential shooting retailers at the time.
Over the years, the Ptarmigan shooting coat has been refined and improved, with various styles now highly regarded in the marketplace. Schöffel produces its super-lightweight shooting coats using the latest technology, such as Gore-Tex® and Cordura®. This results in fabrics which are durable, abrasion resistant, and moisture resistant. In summary, these products are protective and comfortable, therefore perfect for extreme weather conditions. The Ptarmigan range also includes tweed, ultralight, and extreme versions of the classic coat.
As a specialist brand, Schöffel Country focuses on the latest fabrics and techniques to produce superb clothing which is lightweight, technical and comfortable. Most importantly, it is specifically designed with the country customer in mind.
The Schöffel Country range has expanded to include several styles in fleeces, coats and jackets of the finest quality.
