Didriksons Sustainable Jackets for your Spring Wardrobe
Didriksons was founded in 1913, when they began producing workwear for the fishermen in Grundsund on the west coast of Sweden. For over 100 years Didriksons have remained true to their original basic concept, producing functional garments that keep you dry whatever the weather.
The innovations Didriksons work on today are primarily to do with reducing their impact on the environment as much as possible. Saying no to toxic substances, and aim to use as little water, energy, and transport as possible in production activities.
Didriksons believe in creating products that will last for a long time. They achieve this by means of timeless design, careful choice of colours, environmental protection programmes and sustainability projects to constantly develop and improve.
Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.
Didriksons objective is to take responsibility for the entire chain from production through to recycling. They achieve this by designing and producing clothing that will last a long time, offering repair kits and providing features such as an Extend Size function for their kids’ clothing. The kids’ clothing also has name tags with space for several names, as they want to encourage the practice of items being passed on once outgrown. What great innovation!
Once garments from Didriksons can finally no longer be used, it is their aim to be able to recycle them and create new materials. Since 2018, several of their waterproof garments have been made from recyclable polyester, promoting the use of a single component rather than mixed materials to facilitate future recycling processes.
