Timberland Boots – the making of an icon

The instantly recognisable Timberland Yellow Boot ™ was first released forty years ago, setting new standards in the industry, and showcased the very best in American craftsmanship and ingenuity – but what goes into the making of such a coveted boot that gives it such a high status? Let’s delve into the technical details to see exactly what makes Timberland boots so popular…

Nylon Stitching

The Timberland boot is constructed with multiple rows of nylon stitching to uphold the integrity of the boot and ensure a define structure and durability. Nylon was chosen for its resistance to mildew and rot – the majority of Timberland boots are waterproof, remember, and its stress-resistant properties in comparison to a regular cotton.

Honey-toned injection moulded soles

Designed to complement the iconic yellow tone of the boots, the rich honey shade gives the boots a sleeker, more together look. The sole is created as one whole unit using an injection moulding technique, and is permanently bonded to the rest of the shoe to ensure feet stay dry.

Anti-fatigue technology

Originally designed as working boots, Timberland know a thing or two about making a comfortable shoe, and their iconic boots include a range of anti-fatigue features includes a geometric cone support to provide standing comfort, shock absorption and energy return to really put a spring in your step!

Leather linings and trims

Perhaps one of the most recognisable aspects of the Timberland boot, the full leather ankle padding offers comfort and durability which moulds to the shape of your ankle to offer extra support, and is crafted from a contrast colour for added style.
