Rated 5 out of 5 by Highland21 from Quality Jacket From Barbour I brought this jacket about 3 weeks ago and have pretty much used it nearly everyday . The jacket quality was everything I’d expected from Barbour . I’m an XL and have had difficulty with Barbour sizes in the past , so I was pleased that this fitted me well. There’s plenty of room even with a nice thick jumper underneath . The collar buttons are a little tight and it feels snug around the neck . The jacket is thermore lined and I’ve worn it out in sleet ,snow and rain with no issues . Extra features are good : large rear pocket , ear vents on the hood and padded hand warmer pockets . Would highly recommend even with the high price tag . With proper care this is a jacket that will last a very long time .

Rated 5 out of 5 by IvanW...Oldham from Lovely Jacket and great service I had fancied a Barbour for some time and have gone through a few outdoor jackets already. The gold standard Beaufort was reduced, so took the opportunity. The quality is excellent and you can tell its built to last. The tweed detailing looks great the lining makes it nice and warm. The hood and the multiple buttons on the front of it look great and a little different. I'm probably around a 41 inch chest and went for the large, which was way too big. The Medium is much better, but it is a big jacket. Two really deeep pockets to the front and two very comfy hand warmers too. A huge game pocket at the back will im sure come in very useful for maps and stuff. Though as a buddhist there won't be any pheasants going in there. Great quality and service.

You don’t say in your description whether any other coats are “relaxed” fit, which is what I am specifically ooking for. Could you please let me know which styles are in this category?
Thanks for your question and interest in our products. Our internal feedback suggests the Barbour Gold Standard Supa Beaufort Jacket is a more relaxed fit.

Is the hood detachable?

Does the Gold Standard Supa Beaufort take the same liners as the Standard Beaufort? Also, what weight cotton is used, 6oz or 8oz? Thanks.
Thanks for your question, we can confirm that this jacket is crafted from a 6oz cotton and does not featured the required fixings to take a liner as it has been designed with a Polyamide box-quilted lining.

Does the Beaufort Supa Gold run through to size or is it a slim contemporary fit in contrast to the classic Barbour beaufort. Should you go a size larger? Thank you
Thank you for your question. We would advise this style to be a regular fit. It is not as close fitting as the slim fit as it has enough room for more freedom of movement and for additional layers to be worn beneath where appropriate.

Thank you for your question. We can confirm the sleeve length measures approximately between 62cm - 73cm | 24" - 28" depending on the size you require.

Having a look at new Gold Standard jackets - can you advise me of the length in the large size of the Beaufort and the Border ones ? and also what is the difference between Sage and Olive ? Finally on both jackets are the hoods detachable ?
The large back length is 85cm not sure about the Border. Yes, you can take the hood of this jacket and the olive is a darker green with tones of brown where as the Sage offers a more prominent tone of green.
