This Women's Barbour Beadnell Wax Jacket is part of the Spirit of Adventure collection. Made with Barbour's 6oz waxed cotton with a wax satin finish, this is a versatile jacket suitable for all climates. Features include a brass two-way ring-pull zip, studded 'Stormfly' front, two large pockets lined with traditional Barbour Tartan, two moleskin-lined hand warmer pockets and a traditional corduroy collar. Based on the iconic men's Bedale jacket, it has two studded rear vents to add comfort and create an elegant, feminine silhouette when worn. This jacket is compatible with the Betty interactive liner to add warmth, and a wax cotton hood to protect you from the elements.

- We recommend that this jacket is kept away from paler materials, especially in warm conditions
- How to re-proof your wax product, using Barbour Thornproof Wax Dressing:
- 1.You require a pan of hot water and soft cloth or sponge
- 2. Choose a warm room or outside on a hot day
- 3. Stand the tin in hot water to soften dressing
- 4. Work the dressing well into the garment using the cloth or sponge
- 5. Pay attention to seams, creases and dry patches
- 6. Rub in well, don't just paint on
- 7. Do not use excess dressing
- 8. For a 'factory' finish, blow evenly with a hairdryer
- 9. Hang the garment overnight in a warm place
- Never use hot water, detergents, solvents or soap
- Do not dry clean or machine wash

Exactly as expected!
As a teen, I loved my Bedale Barbour which I wore for more than 10 years! I recently got nostalgic and decided to buy a new one. I choose Beadnell because it has a feminine cut and a slim fit that looks very cool. I opted for sage color, it's beautiful and I love the tartan fabric that comes out in the cuff. I also bought the cotton hood in olive and togheter they are perfect for a rainy day, in countryside or in town. It looks classy but at the same time it's casual and confortable. I defintely love it!

Gorgeous ladies Barbour
My partner bought me this as a surprise present for going away to the lake district. I was totally over the moon as expected. Not only does the coat look gorgeous its fits perfectly too. The only down side was he didnt realise you has to buy a separate hood, which he did and thankfully it arrived before we went on our weekend away. Would totally recommend this coat to all ladies

The Jacket is a great example of Barbour’s attention to detail in prime quality - it fits really well and the inner zip allows for an inner to add more insulation. The thoughtful addition of a storm placket around the upturned collar ensures the weather is kept at bay!

I wanted a jacket that would stay classic forever, and I am very happy with the Rustic color - a very dark chocolate brown color that goes with almost everything. I chose my normal size and the fit is perfect with room enough for layers underneath.

Fabulous coat!
I was fed up with getting soaked in the wet Cornish winters and this jacket is perfect! Not too heavy so comfortable on long walks and keeps me perfectly dry! Couldn’t have bought a better coat, just delighted with it !

Not even shower proof
I wore the coat for the first time today and deeply disappointing as it let the rain right through and I had to change my clothes when I got home. It was just light drizzle so it is hardly a country coat.

How warm is this jacket? Does the sizing of the jack come up big or small? This pictures show the jack to be shiny is the fabric shiny or duller than the image?

We would suggest that this jacket is designed for cooler weather but not a particularly warm jacket. This jacket is compatible with the Betty interactive liner which can be purchased separately to provide extra warmth.
We can confirm that this jacket is a relaxed fit, a more generous fit designed to enable additional layers to be worn beneath whilst preserving freedom of movement.
The jacket may appear more shiny when first received due to the wax being newly applied, this will then dull with time.

Hi, I have a blue wax jackets with brass colored buttons, I ordered a new one but the colour is so dark it’s almost black and so are the buttons, can you recommend one with brass buttons that is a lighter navy colour please
Thanks for your question. When a jacket is freshly waxed it can appear a much darker colour but will gradually get lighter overtime. We would recommend the Women's Barbour Acorn Wax Jacket (Product Code: 023064 / LWX0752) for a navy jacket with brass buttons.

Is this jacket waterproof
Thanks for your question. We can confirm that this jacket is weatherproof meaning it will provide some protection in the rain and lighter showers, however it is not completely waterproof.

is there a difference between women's 'Beadnell Classic' olive /rustic, and 'Beadnell' wax jacket olive/rustic, please?
Thank you for taking the time to ask a question. We can confirm that the Classic Beadnell has a Sylkoil wax finish and is treated differently to the Beadnell waxed cotton to give it a higher shine finish. Both jackets are the same in weight.
