What is the width of these boots please? Also, when rolled up, are you able to tuck trousers into them, or do they have to be worn over the boots? Are they suitable to wear for short hikes of 2 to 5 miles, or are they more for town and work wear?
I don't know a specific width but I have wide feet and can vary between size 4-5 depending on width. I have a size 4 of these boot and they fit my width well. I wear my trousers inside the boot comfortably. These are definitely walking boots, they are smart enough for a pub/town but I mainly wear them for cross country walks 5-10 miles. Fully waterproof, comfortable and stylish.

How do I look after these boots, how do I waterproof them, can I use a wax shoe polish?
Thanks for your question. The care instructions advise to allow any dirt to dry naturally before wiping away with a damp cloth. This can be followed with a neutral cream to protect the leather and maintain the waterproofing.

I see the top of the boots if folded over - can you fold them back up to protect the lining in bad weather?

Is the black Hamsterly roll-top lined with shearling, and all the way through the boot? Is the lining something synthetic, and just around the top? It appears from the pictures that the Umber model has some sort of fleece, not shearling -- is that true?
