We are very excited to introduce Ridgeline to Outdoor and Country, a brand who has developed a reputation for high performance outdoor clothing. Our collection of Ridgeline menswear and womenswear is designed specifically for active people who spend a lot of time outside, whether for work or leisure. 1. Where is Ridgeline from?

Ridgeline clothing began in New Zealand in the 1990s. The wild environments of rural New Zealand are incredibly demanding, and so outdoor clothing needs to be tough and protective. The brand was initially very popular with hunters due to being light and comfortable. However, the most important quality was the silent fabrics, enabling people to move around the wilderness without being heard by prey. The challenging conditions of nature in New Zealand are wildly varied, from mountains and volcanic peaks to beaches, forests and fjords. Therefore outdoor clothing such as Ridgeline coats, jackets and smocks need to be versatile enough to suit more than one type of environment. And so, Ridgeline of New Zealand was born.

2. Is Ridgeline clothing good?

Ridgeline clothing is widely praised for its durability, functionality, and performance in demanding outdoor conditions. From their success in the harsh terrains of New Zealand, Ridgeline is now just as well known in the UK. You’ll see the familiar logo amongst farming communities as well as any those undertaking other kind of outdoor work. However, the brand is also popular in everyday life, great for dog walking and country strolls. You’ll even see it shown off by country lifestyle influencers online!

Our Best Selling Ridgeline Clothing

Men’s Ridgeline Monsoon Classic Waterproof Jacket
Women’s Ridgeline Monsoon II Arctic Jacket

The main reason Ridgeline is loved by so many different industries and types of people is its reliability. Clothing that is going to keep you warm and dry is crucial for farm work and similar activities, but is just as important when going for a casual walk! There’s nothing worse than returning home with layers of soaking clothes, and Ridgeline trousers, coats and jackets will prevent that from happening. Which leads us to…

3. Are Ridgeline coats and jackets waterproof?

While Ridgeline coats and jackets are, on the whole, very effective barriers against wind and rain, there are different levels of protection. Firstly, Ridgeline’s advanced 2-layer fabric ensures total waterproofing, keeping you protected in all extreme weathers. The following products are just a few that feature this reliable 2-layer construction, and therefore completely waterproof:

Men’s Ridgeline Torrent III Waterproof Jacket
Men’s Ridgeline Pintail Explorer II Waterproof Smock
Women’s Ridgeline Monsoon II Arctic Waterproof Smock

Meanwhile, some Ridgeline jackets cannot be classed as totally waterproof due to having unsealed seams. However, they still have an extremely high level of water resistance. One example is the Men’s Ridgeline Ascent Jacket, which still features the 2-layer construction. It also has a moisture-wicking inner fleece as is extremely quick drying. Both of these qualities assist with protecting you from wet weather.

4. How do you wash a Ridgeline jacket?

It’s important to clean your Ridgeline coat carefully, as rough handling can result in the waterproof membrane being damaged. Therefore the safest way to wash a Ridgeline jacket is by hand. The care label inside your jacket will provide more specific instructions, but as a general rule we recommend that you keep the coat away from heat sources, such as tumble dryers, radiators and irons. This can result in sealed seams coming away from the rest of the fabric. You should also not use any chemicals or cleaning products that are not designed for use on clothing with a waterproof membrane.

We love Ridgeline clothing as it is the perfect choice for those seeking reliable, durable, and versatile apparel. From its specialised focus on outdoor activities to the use of high-quality materials and innovative technical features, Ridgeline will withstand the rigors of nature while providing comfort and performance. And, with a commitment to environmental responsibility, Ridgeline establishes itself not just as a clothing brand but as a trusted companion on adventures.
